ourladyplumbob Original Poster Field Researcher Join Date: May 2015 | I don't know about anyone else, but MBTI is kind of my guilty pleasure. so, naturally, I've spent too much time thinking about it in relation to my sims. I'm really curious to know where you think the premade sims would fall! (for anyone totally confused, here's a link that should give you a basic overview: http://www.myersbriggs.org/my-mbti-..pe/mbti-basics/) |

mdsb759 | I think I took the test in a psychology class. sim personality traits seems to be slightly related. Outgoing/Shy relating to Extroversion/Introversion. Serious/Playful maybe to Thinking/Feeling. Grouchy/Nice maybe to Judging/Perceiving; or maybe Lazy/Active instead of Grouchy/Nice. or possibly Judging/Perceiving being a mixture of those. not sure which sim trait would be Sensing/Intuition; or what Neat/Sloppy would be in MBTI. |

Carooh | Oh no. This is an obsession of mine too when it comes to fictional characters, but for some reason I never thought about it with regards to the Sims. You just got me into something! Here are my thoughts, I'll start with Pleasantview: Cassandra Goth: INFJ Mortimer Goth: INTP Alexander Goth: INTP/INFJ Bella Goth: ESFP Daniel Pleasant: ENFP Mary-Sue Pleasant: ISTJ Angela Pleasant: ESTJ Lilith Pleasant: ISFP Dirk Dreamer: ENTJ Darren Dreamer: ISFP Brandi Broke: ESFJ Dustin Broke: ESTP? Dina Caliente: ESFP Nina Caliente: ENFP Don Lothario: ESFP I'm not finished but I'm stopping here for now, because this could take ages But I like this! It's fun to see which Sims fit where exactly. It's actually a good idea to use for self-made Sims as well, to build their characters and base their personality off of. I really do think you need to individually assess every Sim though. I don't think you can simply base it off personality points. Like, it may be a bit more unusual but a shy person can still be extroverted - that's how I see Dirk Dreamer for instance. |

Lady L. | I think Neat/Sloppy could be S/N...Sensors tend to notice their environment more and care about messes, while us Intuitives are too busy in our own heads to notice the mess.... :P I did, at one point, want to start a neighbourhood with sims of all 16 MBTI types, and I think I worked it out that: Sloppy/Neat ---> Intuitive/Sensor Shy/Outgoing ---> Introversion/Extroversion Serious/Playful ---> Judging/Perceiving Grouchy/Nice ---> Thinking/Feeling |

gummilutt Mad Poster Join Date: May 2011 | I'd like to contribute, because I love MBTI, but I don't do premades so I really don't know what they might be. I also feel it's hard to translate into Sim world, because many of the things I consider key in MBTI aren't part of the way Sims are coded. |

It's very interesting, and I was thinking the very same for some of the sims, like Cassandra, Lillith and Don. If you have any more ideas I'd be interested to read. I agree, I thought of this question because I was considering ways that I could flesh out my sims more. gummilutt - I have to say, I've never really properly played the premades either - just done extensive reading and watching how other people play them. I can get lost for hours in the sims wiki. |

Bigsimsfan12 Mad Poster Join Date: Nov 2007 | The Myers-Briggs personality test really interests me. I'm an INTJ - and I've only met 2 other INTJ's (or at least those that are aware of their personality type), and both of them I just instantly clicked with. I don't really think I'd be very good at working out Sims personality types though, other than their introverted/extroverted components but @Carooh your post is very interesting, and @Lady L.'s take on how that fits in with giving sims personality points. I never know what to put when I make my simself. It doesn't fit perfectly, an introverted person might not exactly be 'shy' etc. But it's quite fascinating none the less. |
